António de Sousa Dias (Lisbon, 1959)

Composer and researcher, Antonio de Sousa Dias divides his work between music composition, visual art, performance, research and teaching.
He holds a Ph.D. in Musicology (Paris 8) and, along with musical works for several groups and exploring various genres (instrumental, electroacoustic and mixed), music for film, series, documentary, animation and musical theatre, he currently participates with the group Les Phonogénistes in the projects Vertiges de l'espace and Vertiges de l'image.
His research in the area of music creation and virtual environments led him to the areas of multimedia and installation art: he is the author of the Tonnetz series (National Museum of Contemporary Art, Lisbon 2011), the project A Dama e o Unicórnio (The Lady and the Unicorn – poem by Maria Teresa Horta, TMSL / Temps d’Images / Dom Quixote, 2013) and co-author of Natureza Morta | Stilleben with Susana de Sousa Dias (National Museum of Contemporary Art, Lisbon 2010).
Currently he is member of CITAR (Portuguese Catholic University) where he collaborates in the doctorate studies in Computer Music.
